GPT’s Rouse Hill Town Centre takes top PCA honour
Rouse Hill Town Centre has taken top honour at the 2009 Property Council of Australia Rider Levett Bucknall Awards for Innovation and Excellence.
The GPT Group asset was recognised for its design and environmentally sustainable initiatives.
Over 65,000sqm, it comprises retail, entertainment and dining space, a library and multi-storey dwellings.
PCA president Daniel Grollo added the awards – presented at a gala dinner held in Sydney on Saturday June 13, 2009 – showcased Australia’s finest projects.
Rouse Hill Town Centre is at the forefront of its class, and focused on the issues of livability, urbanisation and sustainability, the executive added.
“This year’s winners, including Rouse Hill Town Centre, continue to raise the bar for the industry in setting new benchmarks in excellence, particularly in the areas of innovative and sustainable design and practice”.
Rider Levett Bucknall director Stephen Mee said “Rouse Hill Town Centre is Australia’s first regional shopping centre to demonstrate a comprehensive approach to world-class social and environmental sustainability, proving that responsible property can be delivered profitably.”
