Ian Thorpe lists swank Sydney home
Five time Olympic gold medallist Ian Thorpe is selling the oversized townhouse he bought to move to after living in Europe for a few years.
The three storey property, part of a boutique complex behind a c1867 mansion at 89 Ocean Street, Woollahara, carries c$3.7 million-plus price hopes.
The retired swimmer paid $2.75m in late 2017.
Following any disposal at auction on September 16, he will downsize to an apartment in the area.
The listing comes seven months since radio personality Jackie ‘O’ Henderson sold a contemporary home in the suburb, 64 Edward St, for $13m – a significant rise on the $11m she paid stockbroker Angus Aitken in 2020.
In mid-2021 meanwhile, Kerri-Anne Kennerley banked more than $22m – a then suburb record price – for a historic residence on 892 sqm on Wellington St.
