MarketPlace Fresh buys former Boundy’s supermarket
MarketPlace Fresh is coming to the North Essendon Village after acquiring the former Boundy’s supermarket.
The Epping Market based fruit and vegetable supplier settled on the deal for 25-29 Keilor Road in April.
The retailer presently has 10 stores including at Chirnside Park, Dandenong, Highpoint, Keysborough, Knox, Narre Warren (Casey Central and Fountain Gate), Oakleigh, Pacific Werribee and Point Cook.
Its Essendon property contains a 64 bay car park attached to a 2129 square metre building; being fit-out, it is planned to re-open in late June.
Gross Waddell ICR’s Andrew Greenway and Alex Ham with Australian Property Professionals brokered the sale.
MarketPlace Fresh is directed by Stephen Fanous, who narrowly missed out on winning the City of Greater Dandenong’s Keysborough South ward last November (story continues below).
25-29 Keilor Road, Essendon
The 4010 sqm Commercial 1 zoned Keilor Rd plot was marketed for its development upside; it could make way for at least one circa-six storey apartment tower.
Boundy’s ceased trading there last January after 97 years in the area.
It operates another local supermarket – at the south east corner of Buckley and Fawkner streets, in the Essendon pocket of Aberfeldie.
