T2 founder sets record with home sale

The Shearer home is understood to have sold for over $13 million.

T2 co-founder Maryanne Shearer is selling a renovated and extended Arts & Crafts style family home opposite Cummings Reserve and the beach, in Middle Park.

Between $13-$14 million is understood to have been achieved for 297 Beaconsfield Parade, which only hit the market last week.

The Arts & Crafts style dwelling has been renovated and extended.
The Middle Park property has a private front garden.

A result in that range would break the $13.025 million record set for a home in the suburb on October 2, when 253 Beaconsfield Pde traded after a couple of months on the market.

Jellis Craig’s Max Mercuri and Simon Gowling sealed the deal – #297 is marked “under offer” – before the close an expressions of interest campaign next month.

Another record breaker

On 691 square metres, the Shearer home also fronts Ashworth St, off which it has a four car garage.

Developed in 1910, later refurbished, the dwelling contains a grand entrance, four bedrooms, an office and three bathrooms.

Upstairs is entirely devoted to living/dining, with an east facing terrace, part covered by a retractable awning (story continues below).

253 Beaconsfield Parade just sold for $13.025 million.

Period features including intricate fretwork and bay windows.

The kitchen includes stainless steel benchtops and a 110mm Wolf stove.

The garden has been penned by Aleister Branwen Horticulture.

Ms Shearer co-established T2 in 1996.

The business sold to Unilever 11 years ago for $60m.
