Toshiba will relocate its Australian headquarters to a recently completed office in Sydney’s north west.

Kador recently secured Hyundai Capital to 1 Eden Park Drive.

The technology giant won’t move far – choosing Kador Group’s Array at 1 Eden Park Drive, around the corner from its current base, the Talavera Corporate Park, owned by Goodman, in Macquarie Park.

Array’s two rooftops contain 600 square metres.

Its new tenancy spreads 2800 square metres – the entire first floor and part of the second.

The initial lease term is seven years.

Actum Property’s Andrew Tracey acted for Kador.

Resolve XO’s Brendan Jordan represented Toshiba.

Another Array deal

Developed by Kador mid last year, 1 Eden Park Dve, next to the Orix backed Arc building which has the same address, contains 11,051 sqm of office area over six storeys – with supersize floorplates of c1608 sqm – two ground level retail tenancies and a 60 bay basement car park.

Two upper floor terraces contain a total 600 sqm.

Toshiba will join Hyundai Capital which just rented 1271 sqm on the top floor, also for seven years.

The two rental agreements start later this year.

Both businesses will upgrade from buildings where they had signage (story continues below).

Kador owns 39 Hunter Street in Sydney.

“The Architectus-designed building incorporates features that improve the health and wellbeing of building occupants including rooftop terraces and high indoor air quality, that will deliver sustainability and wellness outcomes throughout the lifetime of the building” Mr Tracey said.

“In recognition of its excellence in environmentally sustainable building practices, the building was recently awarded a 5-Star Green Star Rating and it is targeting market leading…WELL certifications,” he added.

“Toshiba was in the market for a new Australian headquarters to provide the business and employees with a workplace that was not only technologically advanced but also inspired and promoted their well-being,” according to the executive.

Toshiba managing director, Bret Davies, said the office will foster its values of community, wellness and environmental responsibility.

Targeting AAA tenant clients: Kador

Kador managing director, Mark Ross, said the company was targeting tenant clients of Toshiba’s quality when it approached the office design.

“Array is unique in terms of its location and amenity…it has been designed to be a state-of-the-art building for the modern office occupier with a focus on creating a health, sustainable and productive workplace” he added.

“We are pleased that Toshiba recognised the benefits that Array will bring to it business and workforce,” according to the executive.

Macquarie Park is 13 kilometres from the CBD.
