Calleja Group has quietly bought a site next to one of its two Melbourne truck transfer stations.

The 8920 square metre Special Use 4 zoned property – predominantly hardstand – at 32 Baldwin Road, Altona North, is costing $5.85 million.

The group snared the site following an off-market campaign Lemon Baxter’s James Matina said also attracted developers and other owner occupiers.

Calleja has for more than 15 years operated a transfer station out of the 6.1ha property next door, 20-30 Balwin Rd (story continues below).

Its other is in Coburg, in the north, on Newlands Rd.
