You Am I founding member Nik Tischler lists Northcote home
One of the founding members of Australian alternative rock band You Am I is selling his Northcote home.
Nik Tischler and his partner Sonia Le, can expect between $1.75-$1.85 million for 59 Bent Street, which goes to auction on September 21.
The pair paid $697,000 in 2005 for the four-bedroom Victorian, which is accessed behind an iron gate.
It later underwent a major renovation incorporating period features such as wooden doors, fireplaces and lace ironwork.
The open plan living and dining room opens to a terrace and backyard with two sheds and a water tank
The back of the block also has laneway access.
Jellis Craig Northcote’s Sam Rigopoulos, who is marketing the property with Paula Beavis, described 59 Bent Street as “picture perfect” in this realestate.com.au item, adding that the address is within the Northcote High School zone.
“This house has a really special feeling, there is something about it that grabs you,” the broker added.
Bent Street is about six kilometres north of Melbourne CBD, between Northcote and Croxton train stations – both of which are walking distance.
Mr Tischler is now a tour manager, having worked recently with artists including Adele, Jack Johnson, Pearl Jam and Pink.
Ms Le is a celebrity manager – holding Play School presenter Justine Clarke as a client.
The pair plan to build a house in the area after selling 59 Bent Street.
In March we reported that The Living End co-founder Chris Cheney sold a renovated Californian Bungalow in Balaclava for $2.85 million. The musician and his partner, Emma, paid $910,000 for what was the unrenovated home, at 23 Orange Grove, in 2004.
